Welcome to Devilla's website! DeVilla has been dancing and performing since she was six years old. Though she did study dance in college, she graduated with a degree in painting and a minor in art history. She then headed for Los Angeles to start a successful career as a make up artist - but something was missing. 
Devilla discovered Middle Eastern dance eight years ago, and it became a driving force in her life. She began performing and soon founded the "Mighty Isis Dance Co.". The Company disbanded after five years and DeVilla went solo. Devilla studies extensively with Zahra Zuhair, her mentor and "gently kick in the ass". She also studies with Jillina and Ansuya when ever possible as they have both been great inspiration. She is traveling yearly to the Ahla Wa Sahlan dance festival in Cairo to study with Egyptian greats like, Raqia Hassan, Dr. Mo Geddawi, Rhanda Kamel, Momo Kadous, Diana and many more. Devilla loves this dance and feels blessed for having found it! Her dance is a blend of true egyptian raks sharky, magical ritual, a bit of campy fun, and a love for drama, costuming, make up and the glamour of old hollywood. DeVilla is thankful that she can have the best of both worlds, Hollywood make up artist and middle eastern dance artist!
